The Krontihene of Akyem Asuom, Nana Boadi Amponim Obodade III, has expressed strong support for President John Dramani Mahama, commending his first few months in office as a remarkable start to his renewed mandate.
Speaking to journalists in Kade, the traditional leader didn’t hold back his admiration for Mahama’s performance so far, pointing to what he called a clear contrast between the current administration and previous leadership.
“So far so so so good. Some of us stood on platforms. Got on social media, did a lot of campaigns. Braved the threats, the insult because we knew what he was about. We knew then what people know now. He is performing excellently well,” he said, praising the president’s early achievements.
Reflecting on past political debates, Nana Boadi Amponim Obodade III noted that Ghanaians were once divided over who made a better president, but Mahama’s recent leadership, in his view, has put the comparison to rest.
“Sometime back, people were comparing the former President to President Mahama. In just 120 days I can tell you with confidence and without mincing words that President Mahama is a million miles unreachable when it comes to a scale of who is better as a President,” he stated.
The Krontihene further lauded Mahama for setting a new standard in governance and decisiveness, highlighting a shift in tone and effectiveness from previous administrations.
“He is simply setting the records. He is simply getting the template on how to rule a nation and of course (excuse my language) making nonsense of how not to rule a nation as what we experienced some time back,” he added.
