NDC Greater Accra Regional Organiser denies using thugs to disrupt Council of State election

The Greater Accra Regional Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Anthony Nukpenu has denied allegation of using thugs to mar the Council of State elections held in the region on February 11.

In an interview with 3FM Johnnie Hughes on the Morning Show, the organizer said he was rather helping the security personnel to prevent the supposed thugs from causing confusion at the voting center.

“The Thugs would have caused more chaos if they were not confronted. I never brought thugs to the place. I have found out that when people are misbehaving in this country and you look on, they think you are a coward,” he said on February 12.

Anthony Nukpenu stressed that “the chaos never affected the election process, everything went on peacefully.”

The Greater Accra Regional Organizer of the NDC further chastised security personnel for what he described as unprofessionalism in carrying out their duties.

“The Police these days behave lackadaisically and uninterested in people misbehaving, I found it strange and troubling. They need to up their game in discharging full professionalism and integrity.” Anthony Nukpenu said.
