In what has now become one of the most talked-about posts online, actress Regina Daniels has voiced her frustration over what she describes as the Nigerian justice system’s failure to protect the powerless.
Without naming specific officials, Regina accused the system of favouring those with wealth and influence.
“It’s obvious the highest bidder always wins,” she wrote, suggesting that her estranged husband, Ned Nwoko is using the police to frustrate her and her family amid their marriage struggles.
Her post, which quickly went viral, has been interpreted by fans as a reflection of how deeply rooted corruption and power imbalance have become in Nigeria.
“Ned Nwoko is bigger than the whole of Nigeria, that’s what this means.
“We lost, or rather I lost,” she stated, declaring her intention to return to her husband her house in order to save her brother Sammy West who as been arrested on the orders of her husband Ned Nwoko.
The statement has seen users of X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram discussing how her experience mirrors that of many Nigerians who feel powerless in the face of authority.
