New cocoa price in ghana

The government of Ghana has announced an increase in the price of cocoa.
Finance Minister Ato Forson announced a new increase in the producer price of cocoa, raising it to GHS3,625 per bag or GHC 58,000 per tonne.
The new price, which represents a GHC 400 increase per bag, which took effect from Friday, October 3, 2025.
“This represents an increase of about GHS400 per bag, equivalent to a 12.27% rise over the price announced in August,” the Minister stated.
He explained that all margins, fees, and rates to other stakeholders, including COCOBOD, will remain unchanged.
The government, through COCOBOD, will continue implementing key support interventions to boost cocoa production and improve the welfare of farmers.
“COCOBOD will continue to implement interventions to support cocoa production and improve the welfare of cocoa farmers,” Dr. Forson said.
“In particular, COCOBOD will intensify the supply of free cocoa fertilizers (liquid and granular), free insecticides, free spraying machines, free fungicides, and free flower inducers.”
