Nigerian actor under fire for calling married women with phone passwords prostitutes

Nigerian actor and self-styled matchmaker, Adams Kehinde, popularly called Lege Miami, has stirred social media waters with a controversial statement targeting married women who secure their phones with passwords.
“Any housewife that has password on her phone is a prostitute. If a married woman can be putting password on her phone, she is a prostitute,” he declared emphatically.
His comments, which surfaced online and have since gone viral, have drawn both sharp criticism and applause, depending on which side of the privacy divide one falls.
Lege Miami did not mince words in his sweeping claim, questioning the morality of women who mirror their husband’s privacy habits.
“So because your husband has his phone passworded, you too want to put yours as well? You are not ready for marriage. You can pack your load and leave the house. Quote me!” he charged.
His views have opened up a heated debate about trust, boundaries, and autonomy in marriage.
While some see his stance as outdated and deeply misogynistic, others argue that transparency between spouses should not be optional. Still, many critics have pointed out the glaring double standard in his logic, calling out women for an act he seemingly permits in men.
Lege Miami, who has built a sizable following through his matchmaking content and blunt commentaries, is no stranger to controversy.
But this latest statement has drawn intense reactions, especially from women’s rights advocates and progressive voices across Nigeria and beyond, who insist that password-protected phones are a matter of personal security, not promiscuity.
