Nigerian gospel artiste Bolaji Olarewaju, also known as Big B, passes away

The Nigerian gospel community has been thrown into mourning following the passing of renowned gospel artiste and ordained pastor, Bolaji Olarewaju, popularly known as “Big B.”

A statement released by his family on Saturday, April 19, confirmed that the beloved singer died after a brief illness.

He was a cherished father, husband, brother, and a prominent figure in both the church and music circles.

According to reports, Big B had slumped during a performance on the night of Friday, April 18, at a local event.

He was rushed for medical attention but sadly passed away in the early hours of Easter Saturday.

Described in the family’s statement as a “giant in the music industry and our community,” Bolaji Olarewaju was an ordained Pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and widely respected for his contributions to gospel music and ministry.

His sudden passing has left a void in the hearts of many across the Nigerian gospel landscape and beyond, with tributes already pouring in from fellow ministers, fans, and members of the RCCG family.
