Nigerian singer Tems becomes co-owner of MLS club, San Diego FC

Two-time Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Tems has announced that she’s joined MLS side San Diego FC’s ownership group as a club partner.
Tems shared the news in a post on X on February 12, 2025.
Tems becomes the first African female to be involved in MLS ownership.
The club confirmed the news in a statement by its chairman, Sir Mohamed Mansour.
They shared that the singer had become a co-owner through her company, The Leading Vibe.
The statement read; “We are delighted that Tems has joined San Diego FC as a club partner,
Tems is a globally significant artist who will help us reach new audiences and spread the word about our unique project, which, of course, has its foundations in sub-Saharan Africa through the unique Right to Dream organization.”

The singer also commented on her addition as the latest partner in SDFC’s ownership group.
She said: “I am thrilled to join San Diego FC’s ownership group and to be part of a club that celebrates creativity, culture, and the power of community.
“Football has a unique way of bringing people together, and I am excited to help build something special in San Diego, a city that thrives on diversity and innovation.”
Tems joins a group of influential global figures whose personal journeys and achievements deeply align with the values and vision of both Right to Dream Academy and San Diego FC.
