No excuses — Bawumia vows renewed leadership during ‘Thank You’ tour

Former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has openly admitted to shortcomings during the previous NPP administration and urged Ghanaians to join hands in building a better future.
Addressing party supporters during the NPP’s “Thank You Tour” in Goaso, Dr. Bawumia emphasized a commitment to accountability and renewed governance.
“This Thank You Tour is not just a celebration; it is also a moment of sober reflection. We have listened to your concerns, and we are determined to chart a new path forward together,” he stated, setting a tone of introspection.
Responding to growing public criticisms that he was seeking to dissociate himself from his government’s record, Dr. Bawumia made it clear that excuses would not form part of his political campaign.
“We will not make excuses. Instead, we pledge to correct our lapses and to deliver even better governance in the future,” he assured.
The Goaso gathering, part of a broader national tour to express gratitude to the party’s grassroots supporters, became a platform for the NPP flagbearer to make a candid appeal for a collective sense of mission.
“Let us move forward together with a renewed sense of purpose. We owe it to every Ghanaian to serve with humility, dedication, and an unrelenting commitment to progress,” Dr. Bawumia declared, drawing applause from the crowd.
