No Ghana Card, no National Service – NSA boss declares

Director General of the National Service Authority (NSA), Felix Gyamfi, has announced that prospective graduates without a valid Ghana Card will not qualify for national service registration.
Speaking at a press conference on February 13, 2025, he stated that this move aims to wipe out ghost names from the NSA payroll.
Gyamfi criticized the previous management for failing to enforce proper checks, leading to financial losses.
A recent headcount, ordered by the Finance Ministry to clear outstanding allowances since August 2024, uncovered over 81,885 suspected ghost names.
The NSA insists that requiring the Ghana Card will enhance accountability and prevent further payroll fraud.
