No truth in OSP’s claim – Frank Davies defends Ofori-Atta

Frank Davies, legal counsel for former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, has issued a scathing rebuttal against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) following claims that the office has not received any medical report justifying Ofori-Atta’s absence from scheduled appearances.
In an interview on Citi Eyewitness News, Mr. Davies described the OSP’s assertions as “a blatant falsehood,” expressing deep concern over what he termed an alarming lack of diligence on the part of the Special Prosecutor.
“I have said, time without number, that, for the OSP to say that he hasn’t sighted that medical report is a blatant falsehood, and it is unfortunate that he is holding such a public office,” Davies said.
The controversy stems from a June 2, 2025, claim by the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, that Mr. Ofori-Atta had not submitted any documentation to validate his health-related absence from a scheduled session with the OSP.
Agyebeng accused the former minister of acting in bad faith and indicated that the office’s patience had “been exhausted.”
However, Frank Davies pushed back with firm clarity, stating that the medical report was part of the court documents served to the OSP as far back as May 27.
“The processes that were filed in court on May 27, 2025, pursuant to the application that was heard by the court on May 28, the medical report was in the bond that was served on the Special Prosecutor,” Davies explained.
“Unless he doesn’t read his court processes thoroughly. So, for him to come and say that he hasn’t seen any medical report is a blatant falsehood. And as an officer of the court, I find it distressing.”
