Nobody is above the law

Kwame Asare Obeng, known as A Plus, has criticised private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu following his recent arrest by the Office of the Special Prosecutor, saying the lawyer’s actions invited lawful consequences.
The Gomoa Central MP said he personally likes Kpebu but believes the lawyer acted wrongly when he responded to an invitation from security agencies.
“You are a lawyer. You know the law,” he said on UNFILTERED with KSM, monitored by MyNewsGh.
“You cannot attend an invitation by a security agency and go there trying to show power.”
A Plus suggested that Kpebu’s posture created the impression that he considered himself untouchable, a situation he warned against.
“When you go and want to show them that you are in power, that’s why they have to arrest you,” he stated. “Nobody is above the law.”
While expressing admiration for Kpebu’s activism, A Plus maintained that legal knowledge comes with responsibility and restraint.
“Martin himself, honestly, I like him,” he added. “However, I think that some of the things he did were wrong.”
He further warned that public figures who project invincibility ultimately risk losing public sympathy and political support.
“If you continue on a certain path trying to feel untouchable, Ghanaians will vote against you,” he said.
