NPP Conference not a campaign show – Joe Wise warns

Chairman of the Planning Committee for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2025 National Annual Delegates Conference, Joseph Osei-Owusu, popularly known as Joe Wise, has emphasized that the upcoming conference is a strictly delegated event, with access to the main arena reserved solely for accredited participants.
Joe Wise disclosed that 5,675 delegates are expected to attend the two-day conference scheduled for Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
“This is strictly a National Delegates Conference. Only delegates will be permitted into the main conference arena,” Joe Wise stated, making it clear that access will be controlled to maintain focus on the party’s constitutional work during a media briefing at the NPP Headquarters in Asylum Down, Accra,
While a few exceptions may be made, those will be at the discretion of the party’s National Executive Committee.
“A few exceptions may be granted by the National Executive Committee, but non-delegates will not be allowed to participate in the core deliberations,” he added.
Joe Wise also dismissed any notion of the event turning into a political carnival, stressing the seriousness of the occasion.
“We want to assure Ghanaians that this conference will be held with the utmost discipline and seriousness it deserves. It is not a showground for campaigners but a serious constitutional exercise. We are ready.”
The 2025 NPP National Delegates Conference is expected to focus on proposed constitutional amendments, shaping the party’s structure ahead of future elections.
