NPP finding excuses to boycott the Ablekuma North rerun because they’ll lose—Mustapha Gbande

Deputy General Secretary for the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande, believes that the theatrics by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) regarding the Ablekuma North rerun are merely a ploy to boycott the election.

According to him, the political party currently does not have any leadership to take bold decisions for the party concerning the rerun of the Ablekuma North Parliamentary elections.

He believes that the election will be a test of popularity for both political parties, indicating that the people of Ghana will determine if they have forgiven the New Patriotic Party or are in sync with the better Ghana John Dramani Mahama has provided for the people of Ghana.

“Their own party is disintegrated and disorganized. No leadership, no focus; it is all play all. Who is going to make the leadership decision for them to go for that election? So the only available option for them is to begin to dance by the roadside like they have started so that they find an excuse not to participate in the election.

But we are inviting them because, for all political parties, this is a test match for us. If they so believe that Ghanaians have forgiven them and have forgotten their atrocities and mismanagement for the past eight years, we will see it in this election. If Ghanaians believe that President Mahama’s government has brought relative stability, good governance, and transparency to the people of Ghana, it will show in the 19 polling stations, so why are they running away,” he questioned.
