All five aspirants in the flagbearership race in the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) have pledged to ensure that they run a healthy campaign ahead of the 2026 flagbearership primaries.
They made this declaration when they met with Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at a breakfast meeting held at his residence.
A statement from the office of the former president announcing the meeting said “In a significant show of solidarity, each of the five aspirants gave their personal assurance, and that of their campaign teams, to maintain a healthy but competitive campaign atmosphere.”
They further assured the former president of their commitment to the party after the election, even if they lose.
“Furthermore, they expressed their commitment and that of their supporters to rally behind the eventual winner and uphold the unity of the party after the primaries,” the statement said.
