NPP left the presidential jet in a sick state — Dr. Omane Boamah

Ghana’s Defence Minister, Dr Omane Boamah, has mounted a strong defense as to why the Vice President used a chartered flight on her return from London.
The opposition New Patriotic Party has complained bitterly about the decision to fly the Vice President in a private jet.
Their challenge is that Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, while in opposition, condemned the use of private jet by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He indicated that the President’s use of a private jet when there is a Presidential jet was not ethically right.
However, in government, the same people who condemned the use of a private jet now use the private jet for their travels.
In a post shared via social media, Dr Omane Boamah indicated that the Presidential jet was left in a bad shape.
He says it is currently in the hospital receiving the needed attention hence the decision to fly the Vice President in a private jet.
Dr Omane Boamah’s post read “Let the NPP that suffered the most humiliating defeat in recent memory in both the Presidential and Parliamentary elections know this:
1. Akufo-Addo’s administration rundown the Presidential jet. Among others, its fuel tank is even corroded.
2. The Presidential jet has been in the ‘hospital’ abroad for maintenance, repair and overhaul and may be put in fairly usable state after three months of ‘therapy’.
3. The Presidential jet is unfit for use presently.”
