NPP MP Michael Baafi goes undercover as taxi driver to hear constituents’ concerns

Member of Parliament for New Juaben South, Michael Okyere Baafi, has taken an unconventional approach to engaging his constituents by disguising himself as a taxi driver to better understand their everyday challenges.

In a viral video available to MyNewsGh, the NPP legislator is seen driving through various parts of the constituency, picking up unsuspecting residents and striking up conversations about the pressing issues in their communities.

According to him, this method provides raw, honest feedback that traditional town hall meetings or political gatherings may not always yield.

“Most of them didn’t even recognise me,” Baafi revealed. “Some only realised who I was at the end of the conversation. It gives me the chance to hear their real concerns without any filters.”

He explained that these candid interactions enable him to identify priority issues and push for solutions more effectively.

“This approach helps me know their problems firsthand and lobby government to address them immediately,” he said, adding that he intends to make such engagements a regular feature of his constituency work.
