NPP must learn unity from NDC – Akwasi Konadu

Hon. Akwasi Konadu has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to undertake a thorough reflection on its performance in the 2024 general elections and the recent Akwatia by-election.

The Member of Parliament for Manhyia North and former Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources emphasized the importance of accountability and learning from past mistakes.

“The tendency to shift blame is not helpful. We need to focus on areas where we went wrong and build upon the areas where we performed well. That’s how we move forward as a stronger party,” Hon. Konadu stated on Wontumi TV’s morning show.

He drew a comparison with the opposition, highlighting the unity within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during challenging periods.

“For instance, when the NDC lost both the 2016 and 2020 elections, there was no public criticism of then-candidate John Mahama.

Even when Kwabena Owusu Aduomi attempted to challenge Mahama’s leadership, the party swiftly closed ranks.

“This level of unity is admirable and something the NPP must learn from,” he added.
