NPP questions credibility of Global Info Analytics poll in Akwatia race

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) remains optimistic about its chances in the ongoing Akwatia elections, with the party’s National Director of Research and Elections, Evans Nimako, expressing confidence that the opposition will secure victory if the process is conducted fairly.

“We’ve engaged our constituency executives and assured them of our readiness,” Mr. Nimako told MyNewsGh.com in an exclusive interview.

“We know that, all things being equal and with the rules complied with, our candidate stands a strong chance of winning.”

However, he dismissed findings from Global Info Analytics, a recent poll that placed the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate ahead of the NPP’s candidate.

“You need to look at that report carefully,” Mr. Nimako argued. “It says the majority of respondents are NPP affiliates.

“It also says the country is on the wrong track, yet somehow concludes the NDC’s candidate is ahead. That inconsistency raises questions about its reliability.”

According to Mr. Nimako, this is not the first time the NPP has encountered such projections ahead of key elections.

He urged party supporters to remain focused on mobilisation rather than allowing polling numbers to affect their resolve.

“We’ve seen these kinds of polls before,” he said. “We remain confident about our chances.”

Voting continues in Akwatia, a constituency considered one of the key battlegrounds in this election, as both the governing NDC and opposition NPP fight to secure a decisive win.
