NPP rejects Wontumi’s claim of control over polling station albums

The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has dismissed recent pronouncements made by Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Wontumi, regarding the compilation of polling station albums.

In a statement by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong on September 28, the party stressed that “no individual, irrespective of rank or position, has a monopoly or unilateral control over the compilation of polling station albums.”

The NPP urged its members and the general public to treat Wontumi’s claims with contempt.

“We wish to assure all stakeholders, particularly polling station executives across the country, that such pronouncements should be disregarded and treated with the utmost contempt they deserve,” the statement added.

The party further clarified that the compilation of polling station albums follows strict compliance procedures and will continue to be conducted with transparency.

“The National Secretariat will, at the appropriate time, issue clear and transparent guidelines, protocols, and procedures designed to safeguard integrity, credibility, and fairness at every stage of the process,” the release assured.
