NPP respects Adwoa Safo and would not harm her reputation

Haruna Mohammed, the Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has emphasized that the party holds Adwoa Safo in high regard and would not engage in any actions that could damage her reputation.

Speaking on the recent postponement of Safo’s disciplinary committee hearing, Mohammed reassured the public that the NPP values the former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya and has no intention of tarnishing her standing within the party.

The NPP’s decision to postpone the hearing, initially scheduled for Monday, April 7, 2025, was communicated to Safo and her legal representatives.

While the specific reasons for the delay remain undisclosed, Mohammed stated that the party’s actions were intended to ensure fairness and due process.

“The party respects Adwoa Safo and has always valued her contributions to our work,” Mohammed said.

“We would never do anything untoward to damage her reputation. Any delay or change of plans is part of ensuring that the proceedings are handled properly and with respect.”

Safo had been expected to appear before the disciplinary committee to address comments she made regarding the NPP’s performance in the 2024 elections, which the party considered a breach of internal communication protocols.

The party has yet to announce a new date for the hearing, and Safo’s legal team has been informed of the postponement.
