NPP to protest against state-sponsored harassment today

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will hold a protest today, Tuesday, September 23, 2025, in Accra against state-sponsored harassment.

The NPP has accused the government of abusing power since taking over government after the 2024 elections.

They cite the arrest and intimidation of their party members and ex-government officers, including Chairman Wontumi and Abronye DC, to back the need for a demonstration.

The party also disclosed that some of their members who were not top officials have been arrested for being critical of the government and that they believe must stop.

The protest is expected to highlight what it calls the government’s “selective application of justice” and to demand fairness in the treatment of opposition figures.
