NPP’s Asumadu gains Bawumia’s backing in Akwatia

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has intensified the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) campaign efforts in the Akwatia Constituency ahead of Tuesday’s by-election, making a passionate appeal to voters to back the party’s parliamentary candidate, Solomon Kwame Asumadu.

“I urge you to support Solomon Kwame Asumadu so that together we can continue the good works and legacy of our beloved Ernest Kumi,” Dr. Bawumia said while addressing residents.

The by-election follows the passing of the late MP Ernest Kumi, whose one-week observation Dr. Bawumia attended last Friday. Returning to the constituency on Sunday, he hit the campaign trail with Mr. Asumadu, meeting with voters and urging them to unite behind the NPP’s choice.

As part of his tour, Dr. Bawumia paid a courtesy call on the Kusiman Hene, Nana Ntiamoah Kusi Boadu, together with Mr. Asumadu, before embarking on a community-to-community engagement to canvas support.

His campaign also began with church visits, where he introduced Mr. Asumadu to congregants, praising his leadership qualities and his dedication to the development of Akwatia.

Dr. Bawumia’s presence and strong words of endorsement are seen as a major boost for the NPP’s chances as the constituency prepares to go to the polls.
