NSA sets up Committee to oversee new National Service digital platform

The National Service Authority (NSA) has inaugurated a nine-member Transition and Implementation Steering Committee to oversee the rollout of a new digital platform after an audit deemed the existing deployment system unsatisfactory.

In a statement signed by the Board Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Okai Mintah, the NSA explained that the committee will “guide and supervise the Authority’s digital transformation process” to ensure a seamless migration from the current system.

The move follows a June 17, 2025, directive from the Office of the President to the Minister of Youth Development and Empowerment, which ordered the suspension of the existing platform, an audit of its operations, and the design of a new system. According to the NSA, the audit revealed that the old platform was “below standard” and no longer fit for purpose.

The committee, chaired by Dr. Wisdom Atiwoto of the NSA Board, has been tasked to oversee the phased transition, direct the development of the new platform, and supervise its deployment across all core functions, including personnel enrolment, postings, payroll, allowances, and scheme administration.

The Authority assured service personnel that the migration will not disrupt operations or benefits. “The transition will not affect service delivery or the fulfilment of obligations to national service personnel under the National Service Act, Act 1119 (2024),” the statement said.

The NSA added that the upgraded platform will enhance “efficiency, transparency, security, and real-time verification of postings,” promising to provide regular updates on the committee’s progress.
