Nyindam urges Kpandai residents ahead of re-run election

Former  Member of Parliament (MP) for Kpandai, Hon. Matthew Nyindam, has issued a strong appeal to residents, especially the youth, to remain calm and avoid any form of violence ahead of the upcoming re-run of the Kpandai parliamentary election.

Addressing the people of Kpandai on a local radio station monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Hon. Nyindam emphasised that no political contest is worth a single life and urged supporters of all sides to conduct themselves peacefully on election day.

“What is about to happen in Kpandai has never happened before,” he said. “Do not play with your life. Do not do anything uncalled for or dangerous that might injure or harm you. Your life matters to me, your mother, your father, your loved ones, our country Ghana—infact, everyone.”

Hon. Nyindam acknowledged the anxiety among the youth but encouraged them to exercise restraint. “I know most of the youth are worried, but they should calm down. I know that God will make the right provision,” he assured.

He added that campaign activities on the day of the re-run should be conducted responsibly. “If you want to campaign, do it calmly,” he advised.

The former MP concluded by extending warm greetings to the people of Kpandai and reiterating his commitment to their safety and well-being.

The upcoming re-run follows the Electoral Commission’s decision to nullify the initial results due to procedural irregularities and disputed ballot counts, which affected the credibility of the outcome. Political tension has since risen in the constituency, prompting various leaders, including Hon. Nyindam, to call for peace ahead of the fresh vote.
