NYSFTD places a $5,000 bounty on the killers of a USA-based Ghanaian Uber driver

New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers (NYSFTD) is offering a $5,000  reward to anyone who provides vital information leading to the arrest of their colleague.

The 39-year-old USA-based Ghanaian livery cab driver, Osei Kusi was found stabbed in his vehicle in the Bronx early Wednesday, November 26, 2025, in a case being investigated as road rage.

New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers reveal that the car’s onboard cameras recorded audio and video of the confrontation and captured the license plate of the other vehicle.

While they are confident an arrest will be made, the group stressed the advice given to drivers who are already in a dangerous line of work.

“Never get out of your vehicle, that’s your shield, that’s what protects you, once you’re out of the vehicle, anything could happen,” said NYSFTD spokesman Fernando Mateo.

NYSFTD is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

“This was an attempted murder and a danger to every New Yorker. Someone out there knows something and must come forward,” Mateo said.

According to the leadership of NYSFTD, Kusi has driven for Uber and Lyft since 2019 to support his wife back home in his native Ghana.
