Ofori-Atta is not a fugitive from justice – Ahiagbah tells OSP

The whereabout of Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta is known and has been made available by his lawyers to the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has said.
Mr Ahiagbah states that Ken Ofori-Atta is not a fugitive, contrary to the OSP claim.
“OSP is frolicking alone, at odds with the law and basic human sensitivity. Ken Ofori-Atta is not a fugitive from justice….!” He wrote on X.
The OSP has released a wanted poster for former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.
Ken Ofori-Atta is wanted by the OSP for cases being investigated including the loss reduction contract between ECG and Beijing Jao, procurement over National Cathedral, contracts awarded by the Health Ministry to Service Ghana Auto Limited/Ambulances and the SML-GRA deal.
In a Facebook post on Monday, February 17, 2025, OSP urged anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ofori-Atta to alert the OSP.
Speaking at a press briefing on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng declared Ofori-Atta a fugitive and placed him on its wanted list.
Kissi Agyebeng stated that Ofori-Atta had repeatedly refused to honour invitations for questioning regarding ongoing investigations in which he is a suspect.
“Consequently, the OSP declares Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta a wanted person. He is a fugitive from the law,” Agyebeng announced.
The OSP further emphasized that it would take all necessary measures to compel the former minister to appear and answer questions related to the investigations.
