Once I was blind, now I can see – Dino Melaye regrets supporting APC

Dino Melaye, has issued a heartfelt public apology for his past political alliance with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), describing it as a grave error in judgment that contributed to Nigeria’s worsening condition.

The Former Kogi West senator was blunt in his admission of regret during an appearance on Politics Today, a political affairs programme on Channels Television aired Friday, Melay

“Once I was blind, now I can see. I regret in totality. Just like you confess your sins daily in the Lord’s prayer, I ask for forgiveness. Anyone who has moved with the devil, anyone who has aligned with an unholy tendency, should regret it.”

Melaye, once a vocal supporter of the APC and a fierce critic of opposition forces, did not mince words as he slammed the current administration for deepening Nigeria’s socio-economic crisis.

According to him, the ruling party has failed to live up to the expectations of the Nigerian people, and he no longer wishes to be associated with what he termed “unholy tendencies.”

Having now aligned himself with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Melaye expressed strong confidence in the party’s potential to challenge and defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

“I am confident that the ADC will rise as a credible force. Nigerians are tired, and change is coming,” he declared, signaling what could be a renewed political momentum for opposition voices ahead of the next election cycle.
