One dead, several others injured in Chieftaincy-related violence—police

The Ghana Police Service says it has restored calm in Sampa following chieftaincy-related violence.
A statement from the police said security in the area has been beefed up with patrols being intensified within Sampa and its environs.
The police clarified that the disturbance in the area led to the death of one person, while several others sustained various degrees of injuries.

“The Inspector-General of Police has deployed reinforcement teams to Sampa, in the Bono Region, following violent chieftaincy disturbances in the town on 10th September, 2025 which resulted in the death of one person and injuries to some others,” the statement read in parts.
Adding that “The Police have since restored calm, beefed up security and intensified patrols within Sampa and surrounding communities”.
