ORAL Committee worked without pay or support — Martin Kpebu reveals

Private legal practitioner, Martin Kpebu, has disclosed that members of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee worked entirely without financial support from the government.

Speaking during a discussion on TV3’s Keypoints, Mr. Kpebu said the committee neither received funds to execute its mandate nor any form of compensation for its efforts.

“We did not receive any funds from the government.

“We did everything on our own. We did not receive any remuneration. Not even government water,” he stated.

He stressed that despite the committee being set up within a short timeframe to deliver on its mandate, no allowances or logistical support were provided.

“Remember we were set up on 18th December, and we submitted our report in February, no money was paid to us,” he added.

The ORAL Committee was established to trace and recover misappropriated state resources but concerns over transparency and government backing have lingered.
