OSP declares Akore wanted over GRA-SML contract scandal

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has issued a public notice declaring Ernest Darko Akore, a 67-year-old former Chef de Cabinet (Technical Advisor) at Ghana’s Ministry of Finance, wanted for his alleged role in a high-profile corruption investigation.

The OSP’s notice indicates that Mr. Akore is being sought in connection with ongoing inquiries into suspected corruption and corruption-related offenses linked to the controversial Revenue Assurance Contract between the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML).

According to the wanted poster, Mr. Akore may hold dual Ghanaian-American nationality and is believed to have held an American passport in the past. Authorities suspect he may be residing in the United States, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, or South Africa.

The Special Prosecutor is urging the public to assist in locating Mr. Akore. Any information on his whereabouts should be reported via a WhatsApp message or call to 0554484488 or 0554494499.

The arrest warrant was issued by the High Court-Criminal Division, under the case titled Republic v Ernest D. Akore, with suit number CR/0397/2025.
