The Office of the Special Prosecutor has announced that former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and several former senior government officials will be charged by November 2025 over alleged corruption and financial misconduct.

Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, addressing the media on Thursday, October 30, said the investigation uncovered serious financial irregularities involving former officials of the Ministry of Finance and the Ghana Revenue Authority, along with individuals linked to Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited.

The OSP will file charges against Mr Ofori-Atta, Ernest Akore, Emmanuel Kofi Nti, Rev Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, Isaac Crentsil and Kwadwo Damoah for corruption and related offences.

Mr Agyebeng indicated that each of the individuals will appear before the courts by the end of next month, adding that the state will also seek to recover losses linked to their alleged conduct.

He noted that the OSP will additionally move to recover GH₵125 million from Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited, describing the sum as unjust enrichment obtained at the expense of the Republic.
