Ossai Ovie Success has criticized Afrobeat superstar Davido and his wife, Chioma, for what he described as a wasteful display of wealth ahead of their upcoming white wedding in Miami, Florida.
In a social media post, the media aide to the Governor of Delta State expressed his disappointment, questioning the need for another lavish ceremony just over a year after the couple’s extravagant traditional wedding in Lagos.
“Davido and Chioma’s white wedding this weekend in Miami is a waste of money and I am disappointed,” he wrote.
“Having too much money doesn’t mean you should carelessly spend it. Dangote, Elon Musk, and Mark Zuckerberg won’t waste money like this. What is the essence of a white wedding in Florida when your lavish traditional marriage is over a year?”
His comments come amid viral reports that Davido revealed the Miami ceremony would cost $3.7 million (over ₦5.5 billion), making it one of the most expensive celebrity weddings of the year.
The aide concluded by reiterating his disapproval: “I am really disappointed.”
Davido and Chioma’s wedding celebrations in Miami have already kicked off with a Havana Night pre-wedding party, attracting celebrity guests from around the world.
