Otumfuo to present Bawku mediation report to Mahama

A major step toward resolving the Bawku conflict has been completed, with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II expected to present the outcome of his mediation efforts to President John Mahama in the coming days.
This follows a key dialogue session between the Kusaasi and Mamprusi factions at the Manhyia Palace on Monday.
Participants from both sides left the meeting visibly relieved, with brief celebrations reported within the palace grounds.
Observers described the engagement as a significant advancement in the national push for lasting peace in Bawku.
A minor confrontation occurred outside the palace when a jubilant Mamprusi supporter allegedly hit a vehicle belonging to the opposing faction, prompting a quick response from security personnel.
The Asantehene, appointed by President Mahama to steer the mediation, is expected to submit his report for government review and further action.
