Florence Adei Ohene appointed second Deputy MD of CBG

Consolidated Bank Ghana Ltd (CBG) has welcomed Florence Adei Ohene to its top executive team as the newly appointed Second Deputy Managing Director.

The appointment, made by President John Mahama, signals a strategic strengthening of leadership within one of Ghana’s key financial institutions.

With over two decades of experience spanning leading banks in Ghana and the United States, Adei Ohene brings a blend of international insight and local expertise to CBG’s mission.

She steps into her new role alongside Managing Director Dr. Naomi Kwetey and Deputy Managing Director Sheila Azuntaba—forming a formidable trio poised to chart the bank’s next phase of growth.

Florence Adei’s career at CBG is already distinguished. Until her appointment, she headed the bank’s International and Diaspora Business portfolio, where she led initiatives that deepened relationships with Ghana’s global diaspora and expanded CBG’s international footprint.

Her tenure has been defined by strategic thinking, execution excellence, and a forward-looking approach to inclusive banking.

Before joining CBG, Adei Ohene held executive roles at uniBank and built a solid track record in the U.S. financial sector, working with global institutions such as JP Morgan Chase, PNC Bank, and SunTrust Bank.

Her expertise spans Corporate and Investment Banking, Wealth Management, Business Strategy, and Transformation Leadership.

She holds an MBA from Georgetown University and earned dual degrees from UCLA, where she graduated cum laude. Beyond the boardroom, she is also a vocal advocate for financial inclusion, particularly for women-owned enterprises and underserved communities.
