Panic in Prampram as students fall ill after consuming Asana

Several students of the Prampram D/A Basic School were rushed to the Prampram Polyclinic on Monday afternoon after reportedly consuming a locally brewed drink known as ‘Asana’ sold by a vendor on the school premises.
The incident, which triggered panic among parents and guardians, saw a significant number of pupils experiencing symptoms, including dizziness, vomiting, and stomach pain, shortly after taking the beverage.
According to eyewitness accounts, the students began complaining of discomfort shortly after the morning break, prompting teachers to seek medical attention quickly.
In response to the situation, health officials at the Prampram Polyclinic have called for calm, assuring the public that investigations have commenced to determine the cause of the suspected food poisoning.
Laboratory tests are expected to be conducted on samples of the drink and any other possible sources to ascertain the exact cause of the illness.
Parents have since gathered at the health facility seeking information on the condition of their wards.
