Papa Shee, Abusuapanyin clash again over Daddy Lumba funeral date

The dispute over Daddy Lumba’s burial date was furthered on UTV’s United Showbiz programme.
During the discussion, Papa Shee announced that the final funeral ceremony previously scheduled for December 13, 2025, will not take place, citing practical and administrative challenges facing the family.
“The burial ceremony on December 13 will not come off because the musician’s children have exams on February 26, 2026, and others have expired passports. The autopsy result isn’t out because we are also in court with Transition,” he said.
Papa Shee also revealed that the family had earlier informed the Presidency following Lumba’s passing. “…We also went to the presidency to inform the President when Lumba passed.
He wasn’t around, but we met Julius Debrah, and he even told us that they would like to give Daddy Lumba a state burial. We haven’t even gone back for feedback,” he added.
His remarks were immediately rejected by Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu, who insisted that the original arrangements remain unchanged.
“I am the one who fixed the date, and I am saying that the burial ceremony will be held on December 13, no matter what. Your new date will not come on, no matter what,” he stated firmly.
He further questioned Papa Shee’s involvement; “Are you a family member? Why would you interfere in the affairs of another family when you are not part of it? If we hear you mentioning the 14th, I will take you on.”
