Parliament approves four new Deputy Ministers

Parliament has approved four Members of Parliament as Deputy Ministers after the Appointments Committee gave the green light to their nominations. The committee, after a public vetting process held on July 25, 2025, recommended all four by consensus.
Presenting the report, Committee Chair Bernard Ahiafor said the nominees were found competent following careful scrutiny of their records, public feedback, and answers during the hearings.
“Following thorough scrutiny, the Committee found all nominees competent and suitable,” Mr. Ahiafor stated. “It therefore recommends by consensus that the House approves the nomination of all four individuals for appointment as Deputy Ministers.”
The nominations were put forward by President John Dramani Mahama on July 17, 2025, and referred to the committee in line with constitutional provisions.
Those approved include Dorcas Affo-Toffey (Transport), James Gyakye Quayson (Foreign Affairs), Mohammed Adam Sukparu (Communication and Digital Innovations), and Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah (Health).
