Parliament summons GRNMA over ongoing strike, calls for dialogue on June 12

The Parliamentary Select Committee on Health has formally invited the leadership of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) to a crucial stakeholder meeting.
A letter from Parliament, dated June 10, 2025, and signed by Mrs. Eunice Korantemaa Abeka, Principal Assistant Clerk and Head of the Social Cluster of Committees, calls on GRNMA to attend the meeting scheduled for Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Job 600, Parliament House.
The meeting aims to deliberate on the ongoing strike declared by the GRNMA and explore possible pathways toward its resolution.
“On behalf of the Committee, I respectfully invite your leadership to a stakeholder meeting to deliberate on the ongoing strike action declared by the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), and to discuss possible pathways towards its resolution,” the letter read.
The Committee emphasized its belief that open dialogue and collaboration remain essential tools in addressing the grievances raised by the health professionals.
“We believe that dialogue and collaboration are key to finding a mutually beneficial solution,” the letter continued.
