Parliament to Consider Mining Lease Agreement for Lithium at Mankessim

Parliament is set to consider a mining lease agreement between the Government of Ghana and Barari DV Ghana Limited for the extraction of lithium and other minerals at Mankessim in the Mfantseman District of the Central Region.
According to the Business Statement for the Fourth Week ending Friday, November 14, 2025, the agreement, representing 42.63 square kilometres—was presented by the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
Presenting the Business Statement, the Chairman of the Business Committee said, “Mr Speaker, the Committee met on Thursday, 6th November 2025, and arranged the business of the House for the Fourth Week ending Friday, 14th November 2025.”
As part of the week’s agenda, six questions will be directed to the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, while other Ministers, including those for Labour, Roads, Agriculture, and Tourism, will also appear before the House.
In addition, Parliament is expected to lay several papers, including the Half-Year Audit Committee Report of the Births and Deaths Registry, and the Auditor-General’s report on the Central Service Management Portal of the National Service Authority.
