Partly cloudy skies and possible thunderstorms expected tonight

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has issued a 24-hour weather forecast predicting partly cloudy skies across all regions of the country tonight, with a likelihood of isolated thunderstorms, particularly in the middle, transition, and northern zones.
According to the statement, these thunderstorms may occur with or without accompanying rain. Residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions, especially as nighttime weather conditions may become unstable in some parts.
This morning, May 7, 2025, mist and fog patches are expected to develop over coastal, forested, and hilly areas.
Cities such as Koforidua, Goaso, Sunyani, and Kumasi have a 40% chance of experiencing morning mist. Motorists and early commuters in these areas are urged to exercise caution due to reduced visibility.
Afternoon conditions across the country are expected to be generally sunny, though areas in the north such as Bolgatanga, Wa, and Nalerigu may continue to experience thunderstorms, with a 40% probability forecasted.
In Accra, temperatures are forecasted to range from 25°C in the morning to a high of 33°C in the afternoon, with sunny periods expected after a partly cloudy night. Other major cities like Kumasi and Tamale will also experience warm afternoons, with highs of 34°C and 36°C respectively.
Meanwhile, GMet warns that the state of the sea remains rough, and fishermen and coastal communities are advised to stay informed through official channels before setting out.
The public is encouraged to stay updated through local media and the GMet platform for any sudden changes in weather conditions.
