Partly cloudy skies with scattered thunderstorms expected across Ghana today – GMet

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has forecast generally partly cloudy weather conditions across the country for today, with some areas expected to experience isolated rain showers and late afternoon thunderstorms.

According to the latest weather update, early morning conditions will be mostly calm, with cloud cover observed across all sectors of the country.

However, residents along the coast and inland areas may experience brief rain showers during the morning hours.

As the day progresses into the afternoon, sunny intervals are expected to dominate much of the country, bringing warmer temperatures.

The highest temperature is forecast for the northern sector, reaching a scorching 41°C, while the coastal regions will see highs of around 33°C.

GMet has also indicated a likelihood of late afternoon thunderstorms over areas slightly north of the coastline, as well as across the middle, transition, and northern belts.

These conditions may bring temporary relief from the heat but could be accompanied by strong winds and heavy rainfall in localized areas.

Today’s temperature breakdown by sector is as follows:

Coastal areas: 25°C – 33°C

Forest zone: 23°C – 36°C

Transition belt: 23°C – 37°C

Northern sector: 26°C – 41°C

The public is advised to stay hydrated, limit exposure to the sun during peak hours, and take necessary precautions, especially in areas prone to thunderstorms.

GMet continues to monitor weather patterns closely and urges all citizens to stay tuned for updates throughout the day.
