Parts of Ghana to experience rain and thunderstorms today

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has predicted a generally fair weather outlook across the country for today, Monday, May 26, 2025, with mist, fog patches, and isolated thunderstorms expected in specific areas.
According to the 24-hour forecast, the morning will begin with partly cloudy conditions across most regions, with mist and fog likely to form over the coastal, forest, and mountainous zones. Cities such as Takoradi, Axim, Ho, and Koforidua are expected to experience early morning mist, reducing visibility and potentially affecting road travel.
As the day progresses, sunny intervals and occasional cloud development are expected across the country.
However, residents slightly north of the coast and in parts of the middle and northern sectors should prepare for isolated cases of rain or thunderstorms.
Notably, areas such as Koforidua, Akim Oda, Tarkwa, Goaso, Sunyani, Yendi, Tamale, Damongo, Bolgatanga, and Wa have been flagged for potential afternoon or evening thunderstorms, with probabilities ranging from 30% to 60%.
In the northern sector, maximum temperatures are expected to soar, with towns like Damongo and Bole reaching up to 36°C.
Bolgatanga and Nalerigu are forecast to peak at 38°C, accompanied by possible thunderstorm activity later in the day.
In southern cities such as Accra, Cape Coast, and Kumasi, residents can expect a mix of sunshine and cloudy skies, with temperatures ranging between 31°C and 33°C in the afternoon and cooler conditions by evening.
GMet has advised the public, especially commuters and farmers, to stay updated through official weather alerts and exercise caution in areas expected to receive rain or thunderstorms.
