Former Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Awentami Paul Afoko has declared his intention to contest for the Chairmanship of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a statement issued on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, the former Chairman of the NPP indicated that he decided after careful consideration and in response to the consistent calls for renewed leadership rooted in the founding values and democratic ideals of the political party.
He indicated that while the journey has not been without its trials, he has always chosen to
prioritize the unity and progress of the NPP above all else.
Adding that his focus now, as it has always been, is on the future—one where the Party stands reenergized, inclusive, and better positioned to deliver on its promise to the Ghanaian people.
Mr Afoko indicated that in the coming days, he will engage with the media and party to outline his vision for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
