Paul Yandoh takes on AG for dodging bribery allegations

The Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Yandoh, has launched a scathing critique of the Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, for his refusal to respond publicly to allegations of attempted bribery made by musician and political activist Kwame Asare Obeng, widely known as A Plus.

Yandoh, reacting to the AG’s silence following the explosive claims, questioned his seeming indifference to such a serious matter.

“It’s your duty and responsibility to go to court, not church or hospital. Now that you are not interested in going to court over the allegations that you wanted to bribe the vetting committee, where do you want to go?

“Your office is to prosecute cases, not to bathe in the muddy waters, as you say,” he stated in a sharp-toned remark aired on Wontumi Radio.

The comments come amid growing calls for clarity and accountability following A Plus’s allegations that the Attorney General attempted to offer inducement to members of the parliamentary vetting committee to ensure the approval of a ministerial nominee.

The accusation, though denied by some within the political establishment, has yet to receive a direct response from the Attorney General himself.

The issue has further snowballed into a public confrontation between A Plus and former Deputy Attorney General and current Bolgatanga East MP, Dominic Ayine.

Dr. Ayine reportedly dismissed A Plus’s claims as baseless and irresponsible, suggesting that such serious accusations should not be thrown around without evidence. In response, A Plus fired back, questioning Dr. Ayine’s own credibility and accusing him of shielding political figures from scrutiny.
