Pius Enam Hadzide Denies Making Viral Anti-Kennedy Agyapong Comments

Former Deputy Information Minister, Pius Enam Hadzide, has firmly denied making any statements attacking New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential hopeful Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.
Speaking in an interview on Okay FM (101.7) on Monday, November 17, 2025, Mr. Hadzide described the circulating comments attributed to him as complete fabrications deliberately created to sow confusiosn within the NPP.
Over the weekend, social media was flooded with posts claiming that Mr. Hadzide had questioned Kennedy Agyapong’s emotional stability and leadership capacity. The alleged statements claimed he said that any person who sponsors an NDC parliamentary candidate simply because his preferred NPP candidate refused to support him is not mentally fit to lead the party.
The quote also suggested he had described some individuals in the NPP as “loud dogs” who believe the party should collapse if they are not given leadership positions. These comments were presented as direct attacks on Mr. Agyapong, igniting heated reactions online.
However, Mr. Hadzide completely rejected the authenticity of these remarks. He explained that the values he was raised with would never allow him to insult or belittle anyone, particularly a senior figure within the NPP.
According to him, the training he received from Bryan Acheampong, the discipline instilled by his parents, and his own God-fearing nature make it impossible for him to even type such statements on social media. He described his shock upon seeing the supposed remarks and expressed disappointment that political opponents would resort to such tactics simply to damage reputations and destabilise the party.
Mr. Hadzide used the opportunity to reaffirm his belief that Bryan Acheampong represents the future of the NPP, arguing that the current level of disunity within the party calls for a leader capable of building consensus and healing divisions. He expressed confidence that Acheampong has the temperament, experience, and foresight needed to lead the party to victory in the 2028 presidential elections.
To support his point, he highlighted the reconciliatory spirit Acheampong has shown in the past. He cited the example of Nick, who once contested against Bryan Acheampong for the parliamentary seat in Abetifi but now serves as a member of Bryan’s team. According to Mr. Hadzide, this transformation demonstrates Acheampong’s capacity to unite people rather than alienate them. He further revealed that Bryan helped Nick secure employment as an accountant after receiving his ministerial appointment at the National Security Ministry, which he believes is evidence of Bryan’s generosity, forgiveness, and commitment to supporting others regardless of political rivalry.
Mr. Hadzide urged members of the NPP not to fall for propaganda designed to deepen divisions as the party prepares for its internal elections. He called for unity and cautioned supporters to be vigilant about misinformation circulated by individuals seeking to create unnecessary conflict. He emphasised once more that the alleged statements are not his words and should be dismissed as politically motivated falsehoods intended to tarnish his image and undermine the cohesion of the party.
