A Police Constable with the National Patrol Department has been arrested for bathing her colleague with boiling water, leaving her with severe burn injuries.
MyNewsGh.com gathered that the incident occurred at Anyaa near Ablekuma in the Greater Accra Region, where both the victim, identified as Irene Dapaah, and the suspect, Alonsi Elizabeth, reside. According to a colleague who lives in the rented apartment with them, there was a heated argument between both officers over whose turn it was to sweep, and in the process, the suspect, out of anger, poured boiling water on the victim.
Constable Irene Dapaah is currently at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital nursing severe burn injuries while the suspect is in detention assisting with police investigations.
Meanwhile, colleagues who spoke to this portal on grounds of strict anonymity, believe that the suspect could be suffering from bipolar as she is reported to have gained notoriety for picking up quarrels with colleagues at the least provocation. “She is always speaking to herself and seen doing weird things that suggest she could be suffering from some mental issues”, the source added.
