Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, a police officer accused of murdering his alleged girlfriend, Victoria Dapaah, also known as Maa Adwoa, in Kumasi, on April 20, 2023, has been sentenced to life imprisonment.
Twumasi was charged with shooting Victoria multiple times with his service pistol at Adum, leading to her death from hemorrhagic shock.
He had denied ever being in an amorous relationship with Maa Adwoa.
Twumasi also rejected claims that this alleged affair caused marital issues with his wife, Yaa Afriyie, saying, “It is not true,” when told his wife left home on April 19, 2023, as a result.
But an Asokori District Court in the Ashanti Region has sentenced him to life imprisonment after two years of legal battle.
