Police nab alleged ringleader, retrieve ammunition

The thugs behind the deadly attack at the Omanjor Chief’s Palace are now being hunted down as police intensify efforts to bring all suspects to justice.
One of the alleged ringleaders, Newton Allotey, believed to be part of the armed group that stormed the palace and left three people dead and 49 others injured, has been arrested in a targeted operation.
Acting on intelligence, four Special Support Unit (SSU) teams launched a coordinated operation around 1:00 a.m. on September 1, 2025, at Dansoman’s last stop. Allotey was picked up at his hideout without resistance.

A search conducted on the suspect uncovered 18 spent BB cartridges, which were retrieved as evidence.
Police confirm that Allotey is currently in custody and assisting with investigations.
Authorities have assured the public that strenuous efforts are underway to track down the remaining suspects, whose identities are already known, to face justice over the brutal Omanjor palace attack.
