Pragyia rider found dead, vehicle set ablaze in Somanya

Police in Somanya have launched an investigation into the suspected murder of a tricycle (commonly known as Pragyia) rider, identified as 30-year-old Otu Samuel.
The deceased was found naked and lying face-up near a gutter in the Dorhetso area, a suburb of Somanya in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region.
His tricycle, with registration number M-23-GR 7942, was discovered nearby in flames.
Preliminary reports indicate that the incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, after the victim and others in the tricycle were allegedly pursued following accusations of theft.
While the other passengers reportedly fled the scene, Samuel was left behind.
Residents in the area who were questioned by police denied any involvement in the incident and claimed they did not hear any cries for help.
Samuel was later confirmed dead on arrival at the Yilo Krobo District Hospital by a physician assistant.
His body has been deposited at the hospital morgue for preservation and an autopsy.
Police have not made any arrests yet and are appealing to the public to come forward with any information that could aid the ongoing investigation.
