PRESEC-Legon’s 87th Anniversary ends with a call for an end to brain drain

To build Ghana, its human resources must stay after they have been trained and acquired the needed knowledge. These were the words of Edward Ahadome of the Adome Group Limited, who chaired the 87th anniversary of the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School.
He argued that countries that are so admired were built by their citizens and not spectators, urging his colleagues not only to come to Ghana for Detty December but also to stay and help fix the fundamental problems.
“A lot of the countries that we so often admire were built by their own citizens and not by spectators sitting abroad, not by alumni sitting in some other country. The Koreans built Korea, Singaporeans built Singapore, and the Chinese built China,” he stated.
He further insisted that with PRESEC being the leading institution that produces some of the brightest brains in the country, they can only help solve the country’s problems they always complain about when they take the bold initiative of staying in Ghana.
“If we want to fix problems or the challenges that we face in this country, then you, being some of the brightest in this country, must aspire to be nation builders.
I will always say this: do not underestimate what one Ghanaian, one determined Ghanaian, especially one with the Presec background, can accomplish. We can create companies, we can build factories, we can be policy shapers, we can employ 100s, we can employ 1000s,” he said.
